Murphy Rebel Build

We will meet the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month to work on the building of the Murphy Rebel.

The main goal of these build dates is to learn how to build a plane. We’ll work through sheet metal, fabrics, avionics, and power systems sections.

About the build team: New to our Chapter! Chapter members now have the ability to join our Build Team who’s the new project is building a Murphy Rebel kit. Our Build Team members have a wide range of building skills. We have team mentors to help new builders and will provide educational opportunities for youth team members. Build Team members must be an EAA member and an EAA Chapter 41 member.

Brennand Airport Annual Fly-In 2019

Join us for our annual fly-in/drive-in fundraiser sponsored by EAA Chapter 41 at Brennand Airport (79C) in Neenah, WI!

Saturday, August 17, 2019
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

A day of flying, education, food, and exploration of the exciting world of personal aviation. This event is open to the public and will have lots of family fun! Airplane and Helicopter ride for sale. Chapter Members will be showing off their airplanes and Theda Star will visit in the afternoon. We will have food and beverages for sale, as well as raffle prizes. Admission and parking are free!

Valley Aero Modelers will be there for a special radio-controlled aircraft airshow from 12:00-1:00 PM. Pilots, please note: during this one-hour period, the airport will be closed (the grass strip will also be closed that day). 

Raffle tickets are now available for purchase for the Grand Prize raffle and will also be available the day of the event. Winners will be chosen prior to the event end at 3 pm (need not be present to win).  The top prizes are listed below.

  • First Prize……………. 50′ Flat Screen TV or $500 CASH 
  • Second Prize……….. HD Drone or $250 CASH
  • Third Prize…………… Discovery Flight or $100 CASH

This year we will also have live music from local musicians!

Funds support our aircraft building team, clubhouse, and other chapter activities as well as the Civil Air Patrol, Fox Valley Composite Squadron. “Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a Congressionally chartered, federally supported, non-profit corporation that serves as the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. CAP is a volunteer organization with an aviation-minded membership that includes people from all backgrounds, lifestyles, and occupations. It performs three congressionally assigned key missions: emergency services, which includes search and rescue (by air and ground) and disaster relief operations; aerospace education for youth and the general public; and cadet programs for teenage youth. In addition, CAP has recently been tasked with homeland security and courier service missions.”

Monthly Meeting August 2019 at Valley Aero’s Field

Our monthly meeting for August will take place at Valley Aero’s Quarry Field at 6 pm.

6:30 PM – Chapter Updates & Announcements

Program Topic: June’s meeting Valley Aero Modelers will be having GNAT combat (starting between 5:00-5:30) and night flying (starting at dusk). For more information on Valley Aero Modelers, see their website http://flyvam.club/

NOTE: In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at Brennand Airport. If the weather is looking iffy, check your e-mail for updates!

Quarry Field is located at W5007 Quarry Road, Mackville WI 54913.

Directions: Go north of Appleton on Hwy 47 to Mackville. Turn left on Hwy O and go west 1 mile to Quarry Road. Quarry Road is immediately on your left after crossing the railroad tracks. Turn left onto Quarry and go south 0.4 miles to the field entrance on your left (east side of the road).

Typically, our monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. Most monthly meetings take place in the EAA Chapter 41 clubhouse hangar (#11) at Brennand Airport in Neenah. Come early to enjoy a meal starting around 6:00 pm. For our August 21st meeting, we will not be meeting at Brennand Airport. Instead, we’ll be heading straight to Quarry Field.

Guests are always welcome!

Meetings typically last 30 minutes to 1 hour depending upon the agenda and special programs/presentations.
